Angular Material <mat-radio-group> only binds to strings

Just spent a long and fruitless evening discovering that a radio button group () will only bind to string data. Try a number (as I wanted) and there is no error message, just nothing happens! Grrr!

(I used Angular 7) Run the server as: ng server --host 0.0.0.0 --disableHostCheck true It may be that the --host parameter is not strictly required. I didn't test that. Of course you will need to open up suitable firewall holes
